Midlands Engine Chairman Sir John Peace will be among the keynote speakers at the first Midlands Good Work Summit, taking place on 14th June 2023 in Nottingham.

Supported by the Midlands Engine and co-hosted by the Advisory, Conciliation & Arbitration Service (ACAS) and Nottingham Trent University (NTU), the first Midlands Good Work Summit will be a great opportunity for regional businesses, trade unions and research communities to meet and exchange ideas on the development of Good Work policy and practice.

Keynote speakers include:

  • Sir John Peace, Chairman of the Midlands Engine
  • Susan Clews, Chief Executive of Acas
  • Professor Edward Peck CBE, Vice-Chancellor and President of NTU

Employment experts Acas have teamed up with NTU to present a timely analysis of how working practices can positively impact productivity, sustainability, mental health, EDI, staff recruitment and retention in such a challenging economic climate. Summit presentations and panel discussions will focus on the longer-term impact of good work practices on the region’s infrastructure, investment, social well-being and local communities. Key themes include how good work practices can positively impact productivity, improve quality of working lives, identify solutions, and tackle skills shortages.

This stimulating event will generate ideas, provide practical concepts and expand networks for business leaders, HR professionals, academics, trade union representatives and local authority officials. Delegates from regional SMEs and practitioners who are interested in knowledge exchange and good practice transfer for the Midlands in these challenging times are encouraged to sign up.

Time: 10:00-14:00, refreshments (from 9.30) and lunch (13-14.00) provided.

Venue: Nottingham Trent University, 50 Shakespeare St, Nottingham NG1 4FQ

Attendance is free.
