Midlands Engine will hold five virtual workshops in January to discuss key clean-growth-related opportunities and is now inviting partners to take part.

The workshops will be an important step in identifying the strategic priorities that will deliver the greatest impact for the Midlands in terms of sustainable economic growth and our journey to net-zero, ensuring that we capitalise on our unique and world-leading strengths in the energy sector.

The workshops will take place as follows:

Following these workshops, a final workshop round-up will take place in early February.

Building an Action Plan for Green Growth

The insights from these workshops will be vital in informing the work the Midlands Engine is currently undertaking to develop a Green Growth Action Plan, due to be published in the spring.

This will include policy recommendations for targeted regional solutions to overcome barriers to economic growth and drive a Green Industrial Revolution for the Midlands.

The Green Growth Action Plan will build upon the Midlands Engine’s Energy Conversation which took place towards the end of 2020 in collaboration with Browne Jacobson LLP and the Energy Research Accelerator.

The result will be a partnership approach to evidencing, addressing and resourcing sustainable green solutions to overcome challenges our society faces now and in the future.

To take part in any or all of the workshops please contact Midlands Engine Programme Officer Jacob Vivian.
