Today [17th December] the Midlands Engine launched the Midlands Growth Story – a vital tool to support our region in driving sustainable economic growth and prosperity.
Designed for policymakers, investors, local authorities and Midlands Engine partners, it provides a unified narrative that highlights the region’s strengths, challenges and opportunities.
With its diverse industrial base and a legacy of innovation, the Midlands is uniquely positioned to support the UK’s transition towards a greener, more resilient future.
The Midlands Growth Story is not a strategy or blueprint but a showcase of what the region can achieve by working together. It demonstrates where the Midlands stands today, outlines where it aims to be and identifies actionable steps to bridge the gap.
The Midlands Growth Story combines robust data and analysis with compelling impact stories, offering stakeholders a resource to guide decision-making and align local plans with regional and national priorities.
From key infrastructure projects like the STEP fusion power plant to innovative financing models such as the Midlands Green Bond, it highlights a pipeline of initiatives designed to attract investment, create jobs, and boost productivity.
