Staffordshire is set to showcase what makes the county a great place to invest at a national conference next week.

A delegation from the county council and its partners will be returning to promote Staffordshire at UKREiiF (UK’s Real Estate Investment and Infrastructure Forum) in Leeds to over 12,000 attendees.

The three-day event is in its third year and brings together local and regional public sector organisations with Government, investors, funders, developers, housebuilders and more. It is being held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Staffordshire’s delegation includes the county council and all eight district and borough councils as We Are Staffordshire – the county’s place marketing organisation.

The We Are Staffordshire delegation will be hosting a series of events over the three days, promoting the A50/A500 green energy and manufacturing corridor, town centre schemes and development opportunities to progress the i54 area around the South Staffordshire and Wolverhampton border.

We Are Staffordshire will be the first to host a panel discussion – ‘A Global Manufacturing and Innovation Superpower’ – in the Midlands Engine Partnership Pavilion. The panel will feature Philip White, deputy leader of Staffordshire County Council; John Kavanagh at Group Communications Director at JCB; Sarah Spink from Midlands Connect; Ann Prittard, Director of Engagement and Partnerships at Keele University and Dan Cooper from the East Midlands Freeport.

This year’s sponsors are Keele University, developers Stoford, St Modwen and Nurton Developments, PLP and Harworth.

Keith Griffiths, chief executive officer and founder of UKREiiF, said: “We’re thrilled that Staffordshire are returning to UKREiiF for a third year in a row. Their continued support is a real testament of the success the council have taking part in the UKREiiF event, year after year. We’re looking forward to seeing the big plans they have in store for 2024.”

Staffordshire County Council’s deputy leader Philip White said:

“Our last UKREiiF event was a huge success as our delegation presented a package of proposals worth around £1bn.

“We’ll again be showcasing tremendous investment opportunities and everything that’s great about our county through the We Are Staffordshire brand.

“At next week’s event we’ll focus on town centre regeneration, future potential along the A50/A500 corridor and other planned transport improvement projects.

“Our presence at UKREiiF is critical as it enables us to make a lasting impact on investors and decision makers. This ultimately results in new high-quality jobs and greater prosperity for our communities.”

Main themes across the event include the UK’s net zero target, social value and inclusive growth, the future of real estate, building better communities and a focus on inward investment.
