Midlands Engine appoints joint Vice Chairs to the Midlands Engine Operating Board

We are delighted to announce the appointment of two Vice Chairs to our Operating Board who will take up their roles immediately: Dr Helen Turner, Director of Midlands Innovation Universities; and Neil Rami, Chief Executive of the West Midlands Growth Company.

The Midlands Engine Operating Board brings together dedicated regional leaders from partner organisations from every partners of our region, who shape and develop the shared vision for our work, driving forward programmes and action, set out in the Midlands Engine Business Plan.

Dr Helen Turner and Neil Rami join the Operating Board as we say farewell to Professor Iain Gillespie. Iain, who has been the leading voice of Midlands Engine Innovation and Enterprise, will be relocating to Scotland to take up the role of Vice Chancellor at the University of Dundee and we wish him well in this important new role.

Midlands Engine Director Rachel Greenwood said:

I’m delighted to see both Dr Helen Turner and Neil Rami take on the role of Vice Chair of our Operating Board.

The Board performs a vital role in our work at Midlands Engine, helping to define our strategy and ensuring accountability across our partnership against our shared goals.

I’d also like to sincerely thank, on behalf of the Midlands Engine, to Professor Iain Gillespie for his tireless during his years as Vice Chair. Iain has played a key role in the growth of the Midlands Engine Partnership and his contribution will be very much missed.
