The Midlands Engine All-Party Parliamentary Group met with members of Visit Lincoln, the University of Lincoln, and the Greater Lincolnshire LEP Visitor Economy Board last month, as part of a levelling up event in the House of Lords.

Lord Taylor of Holbeach, Midlands Engine Champion for the Visitor Economy, joined Lincolnshire delegates including Jo Hardy, LEP Director and Business Operations Manager at Hardys Animal Farm, Lydia Rusling, Assistant Director for Economic Growth at South & East Lincolnshire Councils, and Charlotte Goy, CEO at Visit Lincoln.

The delegation made the case for levelling up Lincolnshire’s visitor economy to attendees from throughout government and the Civil Service, including the Cabinet Office’s Director of Levelling Up, Tom Walker. Among the highlights of the event was Neal Juster, Vice Chancellor of the University of Lincoln, giving an inspirational speech demonstrating the University’s pivotal role in supporting growth and levelling up for the region.

The Midlands Engine APPG continues to bring together MPs and Peers in the Midlands to promote regional economic growth and development, engaging with the Midlands Engine’s partner organisations to raise awareness and support of levelling up projects throughout the region.
