On 22 September, 14:00-15:30, Midlands Engine will hold a webinar with the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).

The event will provide an update on the UK Government’s progress towards its target of 10GW of low carbon hydrogen capacity by 2030, as well as the policy frameworks being implemented to optimise the future distribution, storage and end-use technology opportunities for hydrogen.

The event will feature presentations on key H2 policy focus areas by BEIS civil servants including the H2 Business Model, H2 Transport and Storage Framework and H2 Blending. There will also be an opportunity for questions at the end.

It is recommended UK businesses, universities, local authorities and other parties with an interest in hydrogen attend the event.

In December 2021, the Midlands Engine launched its Hydrogen Technologies Strategy, centred around a vision for a Midlands Hydrogen Technologies Valley. The Strategy, which is underway, has the potential to create or safeguard 167,000 jobs, provide £10bn GVA to the Midlands and UK economy, and reduce CO2 emissions in our region by 29%.
