How our partnership works to increase investment in the Midlands

Build a reliable evidence base
Working across the Partnership and with the Midlands Engine Observatory, and as seen through our work in mapping the region’s cluster potential, we build a reliable evidence base to facilitate informed decision making.

Unlock potential
We showcase the opportunities to drive investment and trade, focusing on areas where the Midlands is strongest and most innovative. View the ‘Invest in UK R&D’ prospectus here.

Provide a global platform for the region
Provide an even and balanced platform for partners to present priorities, and support this through the Midlands Trade and Investment Advisory Forum community of practice.

The Midlands is home to some of the world’s most successful companies, whose innovation, expertise and ingenuity have driven UK trade and exports for over a century. The Midlands Engine helps amplify the voice and reputation of our region’s universities, businesses and opportunities across the world – to high-growth markets, such as the USA, South East Asia, the Gulf and Africa. We will also work to underpin our essential regional trade relationship with Europe.

We work in collaboration with partners from right across our region and national government. Together, we work to support inward investment, to encourage more firms to export to more places around the world and to help keep jobs and opportunities within both our region and the UK.
