The Midlands Industrial Ceramics Group (MICG) is marking the first year of a research project which is set to create thousands of jobs across the region over the next decade.

NatWest has released its latest Monthly Purchasing Index for the Midlands which provides an overview of business activity in our region in September.

It has been announced that Midlands Connect will be awarding £50k of funding to Derbyshire County Council. This is for the authority to make a business case to the Department for Transport for work to the A61 Corridor (South of Chesterfield). The council will contribute by matching the award, making a pot of £100k.

On 27 September, Midlands Engine, Charnwood Campus and Medilink Midlands welcomed Rosalind Campion, the Director of the Office for Life Sciences (OLS), to the Midlands to meet representatives of businesses and organisations from our region’s health and life sciences sectors.

Today, organisations championing economic growth across the Midlands welcomed the announcement from the Department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) that West Burton will host the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA)’s pioneering prototype fusion power station.
