In May 2018, Nottingham City Council, Hangzhou government and the Creative Quarter opened Fusion, the Hangzhou-Nottingham Cultural & Creative Industry Exchange Centre on Avenue C, Sneinton Market Avenues. After a short period of closure, the Creative Quarter reopened Fusion in February 2020 with a new Gallery and Cultural Centre Assistant.

The centre is designed to promote communication between Chinese and Nottingham creative industries, to exhibit art and design from Hangzhou and Nottingham businesses, and to act as a launchpad for Hangzhou businesses wanting to explore the UK market. It is fully funded by Hangzhou government.

The Fusion opening event will be in September 2020 and a series of cultural events, including artist exhibitions and traditional Chinese festival celebrations, will be organised. If you would like to know more about Fusion, or you are a Hangzhou business wanting to work in the UK, a Nottingham business hoping to trade with China or a Nottingham creative interested in seeing your products on display in Fusion, email fusion@creativequarter.com.
